"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measures. It is our light, not darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous talented and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be?” Nelson Mandela

Don’t cry dear-
I see those tears running down your face.
I see those tears, making a streak.
You forget to smile.
I can’t remember when I last saw you laughing.
I know that life’s hard
I know that it always will be.
He never promised it’d be easy.
But at least we have each other.
I see those eyes filling up with tears-
As the past comes back to haunt you.
I see those hands pick up the knife,
as those memories of yesterday flood in.
But dear, sometimes if you face the clouds-
You’ll find you see the sun.
Life’s not about seeing the sun always.
it’s not about trying to dance in the rain.
Life’s about finding the sun in the rain.
Life’s about finding some joy in the storm.
Life’s about just living.
So my love-
dry those tears and look around.
You might just see the sun peaking out…
and be careful…
Life just might take your breath away.
It might shock you with its beauty!
It might make you walk a little straighter-
it might make you think twice about that blade.
So love, look up
cause if you spend all your life looking down,
you’ll just see where you are
And never where you’re going.

Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!
