"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measures. It is our light, not darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous talented and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be?” Nelson Mandela

The pain still feels so real,
The memory is so fresh.
I’m gasping for air.
I can’t breathe without you.
You promised we’d always and forever be,
Why am I alone and without my best friend?
I sat back as the bridge burned.
Everyone said I was doing the right thing,
But I don’t believe it.
How did we become enemies?
Since when did we scream?
Why do you hate me?
Maybe it’s time to throw the towel in.
But then I’d be a quitter.
Maybe it’s time to see,
We’d never have been what I thought we’d be.
It’s time.
Throw the towel in.
Cry my heart out.
Breathe through the tears.
As much as it pains me,
Pulls me,
Rips my heart,
I can’t keep believing in fantasies.
We’re through:
Me and you.
Here’s to the past,
The future,
Separate.
No you and me.
Instead separately.
Goodbye forever,
My love.
