Even though I am chalk,
I serve a purpose.
I bring education to many –
Teaching math,
English,
And much more.
I help people succeed in life
Because they can learn.

I bring joy to people’s lives –
They draw on asphalt,
Create many designs,
And have much fun.
I can create templates of games
For the young to have fun.

But, I also may not bring happiness –
To some.
I outline dead bodies
That lay l i f e l e s s.
I help catch villains
And save the lives
Of many more.
Even though
I may not be alive,
I am still out there for a reason.
Living a lifeless life.
