Crumbling
Whenever he stood
On the bridge
Over the river
He thought of
Jumping
On the crumbling
Parapet he would leave
His crumbling shoes
In case someone wanted
To remember him
One last scan
Of his crumbling
World
And he would close
His eyes and
Jump
Free
falling
not a
care
With one fluid movement
He would be gone
Floating
In the river
He would feel no pain
As the cold devoured his
Empty body
And then there'd be
Nothing
Nothing but
Crumbling shoes
On a
Crumbling parapet
In a
Crumbling world
