A sparrow,
Still chirping lightly,
Nearby,
Her song flows through the air,
The beautiful melody,
Caressing my ears delicately,
As she passes me by.

My eyes take in,
The silhouette of another singer,
He chirps a delicate tune,
It merges with another beautiful song,
Above the treetops.

WHOOSH!

My ears are blank.

The notes vanish,
As the wind,
Jealous they’re tune is more beautiful than hers.

WHOOSH!

Two gliding singers,
Are picked up and carried away,
As they’re songs are replaced,
With the harsh melody of the wind

The author's comments:
When I wrote Gliding Singers I was trying to illustrate how when I’m outside the tunes the birds around are singing flow through the air. During fall when the wind picks up, the birds fly away to sing their songs somewhere else; this is what I was trying to capture.
