"I know you and you know me, the one thing I can tell you is you got to free!"- John Lennon

Trying to be popular
Trying to be cool
There are many things to be
When you’re at school

But when you’re riding on your bike
And you’re all alone
You’re on a mighty dragon
Flying to your home

And when you’re on a hill
And not a soul in sight
Your riding across a field
On horse as a knight

When you are young and cute
About the age of two
No one cares if you pretend
Because that is what you do

But when you’re thirteen
And you’re in jr. high
Kids wait like vultures
To gossip and to spy

And when there is no one watching
Not a soul anywhere
Time to finally be yourself
Time to really care

Imagination is
The food for the soul
To be whatever comes to mind
That is the goal

So why don’t we imagine
That we are all two
So no one cares if we pretend
Because that is what we do!

I did this for my reading class after studying poetry. I babysit a lot and it seemed like a appropriate topic.
