Unforgotten: To Those Who Never Will Be

April 9, 2010
Going down the same long road
She travelled years ago
Compelled by bitter memories
Of better times and so

Walking through these mournful halls
They echo songs of old
Walls remember long-loved voice
Speaking thoughts once told

Familiar place she finds again
In windy courtyard grey
Taunting her with hopes of those
Of whom she dare not say

Near wand'ring brook and time-worn oak
She stands 'fore arching stones
The river sings durge melodies
For long-deaf resting bones
