Black Bird

April 8, 2010
A black bird sings

In the dead of the night

A raven by the looks of it

Although it always eludes my sight
The night is engulfed

While it spreads its wings

All of this while a black bird sings

Wisps of smoke

Rise in the air
This world’s going to choke

And we can’t let it get there

We are the enemies

Of this peaceful Earth

All of humanity
Must fight for what it’s worth

Blue birds chirp

Never more

While Poe still searches

For his lost Lenore
In the kingdom of Heaven

In the fires of Hell

People are dying

In these places as well

We’ve not lost this war
Not yet at least

We are the enemies

We must control ourselves

Seize the moment

Escape the fate
To save this world

We must not wait
