The box marked summer

green grass gleamed in the mid-day heat
the season of summer will never be beat.
As the sun wakes up and greets the Earth,
warm not cold air bakes the hearth.
Pools, jump ropes and swinging on swings,
these are some of summers best things.
Beaches and smiles come up in my mind.
Summer joy I never cease to find!
Volleyball and hide and seek.
chirping birds and their polished beaks.
But sadly when cold weather comes round,
I will never forget summer joys I have found.
