Simple Gesture

She sat there
Tears rolling gently down her face
Trying to process it all
"Why do I still love him?"
She would ask over and over
Through her tears
I gave her a hug
Hating the fact that
This simple gesture
Was all I could to to help

The author's comments:
My best friend just got out of a relationship that ended horribly. I hated not being able to do anything to help.
