"Judge me all you want, but keep the verdict to yourself"

The bird soars high above,
I watch it fly with wings outspread,
Like one watches fleeting love.
Take me with you,
Oh so high,
I would be so happy I would have said:
"I have never been in the sky
I took your hand and I was led
To a place where the nigh
Does not touch this place in the sky!"

With feathered wings you dance in the clouds,
You sing and explore and fly away.
You get to see all the scenic routes
While I sit here and say:
"You are free and can sail the sky,
I am not and now must lay
In my on bed and resort to sighs.
Why can't you just take me with you?
So I can leave all these stupid lies..."

The author's comments:
I wrote this soon after the death of my Grandfather. Just like "Soar Away..." I was inspired by a small robin outside. I wanted to fly away and be with my grandpa, to leave the lies of high school, the drama that is involved in every day life. I wanted to go away and be with him. However, how much I wanted this wish to come true, I knew I was meant to stay on this Earth and take care of those I loved. So now, I sit and watch that bird and think of my Grandpa, and how he now lives in the sky.
