Waiting
I sit here in the woods,
waiting,
waiting for some company...
Like an old man who lost his wife
But a mere four, maybe five
times a year I welcome a visitor.
When they arrive
they see my changes,
as I slowly rot away
around my windows and porch
and all the moss on my roof
while getting overrun
by hundreds of mice Scurrying about,
pooping and burrowing
through my walls.
I am slowly falling and waiting
waiting for some company
just falling rotting and waiting.
