Quick hands move on each string,
and I sat back and watched
Beautiful tunes carrying
Humming voices,
Keeping me human
Crossing bodies, pursed lips,
silent hands, hushed hips
Piano, trumpets, laughing instruments
Crying people, salty fingertips
Joy fills the air
Babies crying,
mommas sighing,
fathers dancing,
siblings chanting
Ridges and wrinkles
In foreheads
Books in ankles
Applause! Applause!
Standing people
smiling faces
sitting ducks
crying places
