I always knew, I'll never forget
I always knew
Our friendship would end
that when high school was over
we would drift apart in thin air
Pretending we never even met
Pretending your new friends were your best friends
It's funny though
I always knew
Things would turn out like this
When I thought about how the kids would look when they were older
I never thought passed kindergarten
I always knew
once the four years was up our relationship would not stay the same
I always feared
that the kids would not remember me that he would find a new best friend to say I love you to
I always knew
this was how it was going to be
my instincts, my conscious, my feelings told me so
I'll never forget those silly moments we shared though.
