Us

Life is a game.

Our emotions are played,
our feelings displayed.

Cheat codes not worth entering
but still we,

Lie

Steal

And Deceive.

Life is a show.
We act to entertain and

Adhere

to our audience.
We become fake

to be perceived as

“Real”

Life is a scene.
We follow the

Roles

people set for

“US”,
never challenging to

portray ourselves

as we Really Are.

Life is a struggle.

We attempt to go,

Beyond

Our

Limits

but we only turn the

Possible

Impossible.

Life is a hazard.

We threaten our happiness.

We open our spirit to belief.

“Only to lose our faith.”

We give our mind to memories.

“Till we want to forget the

Pain we’ve discovered.”

Life is Us.

It’s the color of our skin.
It’s the struggle of the darkness,

to be recognized as good.

It’s our battle against white,

forever blinding people from the truth.

The author's comments:
I wrote this one day after talking to a friend of mine. She had decided to confide in me the secrets of her life. So this poem is kind of based on the hardsips of her pain.

Dedicated to,

Margeret
