Knots, holes, cuts, and splinters
The piece of wood went though many winters
As green and brown describes the tree
Red and yellow is the sign of a leaf.
A house or barn is what it is going to be
Rough textures and cracks is what I see
Water damage and mold might hurt the tree
But sealant and nails make it as strong as it can be
Tools will make building the house a breeze
But building the house too late could cause a freeze
Screws and screwdrivers, hammer and nails
