I love you

If I tell you “I love you.”
Then you’re supposed to say “I love you” back.
Not shake your head.
Not tell me how I don’t even know what love means.
Not laugh softly and brush my comment away.
Not push me away.
Break my heart.
Shattering it into a million pieces.
Lost in space.
Leaving me bleeding here.
All alone.
And all I did was say “I love you.”
