Tears
A thousand tears ago
when I was a sad kid
in a dark room with the
loud music on, and it was
summer as long as I could remember
I lay on my bed hugging
my favorite teddy bear
with the window wide open
my mothers sweetness in her
pretty hazel eyes
my fathers seriousness in his
big pretty hazel eyes
and the smell of the room
smelled as good as the grapes
and probably a million teardrops
running down my face and drying out
as the teardrops hit the bear
and I wrapped in my soft blanket
which was as soft as a baby
told my teddy bear my questions
and thought you could really see
the pain in my eyes
and just wished you could stop telling me lies.
