Big Brother
As he lowered himself,
I rose up
To bridge the 8-year gap
So we could ride laps.
We had each other
Which was like no other
When waiting all night
To see Santa’s light.
Witnessing an athletic brother
Inspired me and taught me
The sacrifices to be
A player not a spectator.
He’s there for me
In times of need
To pick me up
Off my feet.
After moving out
He’s left me all alone
But the memories we share
Are carved in stone.
Thank you big brother,
For all you’ve done.
I’m so lucky
To have you.
