Rush Hour
In winter you're grey and cold.
In summer you're bright and sunny.
You are the busiest hour of the day
and you don't even know it.
The hour I begin my homewok.
The moment traffic becomes heavy,
the time little kids step off the yellow buses.
You can be obnoxioue-
screaming students running home,
my huge hound barking at my sister,
and the road ragers stuck
in rush hour.
These are the noises that make you who you are.
You slow traffic down and
make us all for our important dinner dates.
You're a bittersweet hour
and you're proud of it.
In winter you're dark and grey,
in summer you're brighter than the sun itself.
