Her Own Addiction
It was a pattern that began very long ago,
how it started, how it began, well, nobody knows.
16-years old, with hopes beyond learning how to drive,
An addiction that was basically set out to eat her alive.
It kicked down her walls, and pounded within her brain,
It took everything she had, and instead handed her pain.
With more cuts showing up on her arm and legs everyday,
It picked at her, never stopped, and always got it's way.
Just a young, misunderstood, and confused teenage girl,
who after trying to kill herself for 5 years have finally failed.
It crushed her inside, and ate her alive til' she just got used to it,
It never left her alone and whenever she ignore it, it would throw a fit.
She started cutting as a way to cope, but ended up doing much more,
Making her cut and cut til' her body became sore.
She Set out just to release her hidden pain,
it ended up making her look like she was insane.
It became a constant struggle every night and day,
as her blissful feelings toward life began to decay.
It took her years, but she finally learned the true meaning of pain,
But it was pain itself that kept trying to drive her insane.
And once she figured it out, it became all she knew,
It became the only and only thing that she could do.
ALways hurting herself, slicing her wrists left and right,
Never stoppng, hating herself and body all out of fright.
An urge to cut, which grew on her throughout the years,
FOrever squirming in her head, and hiding behind her fears.
Always in her soul, and always in her mind and heart,
A part of existence that pulled her together, but also apart.
