This heart that used to hurt,
These toes that tingled at your touch,
Their love and pain have been lost.
These feelings didn’t go sour – moldy like old yogurt.
But all those emotions, and what hurt so much
All those warm, cozy feelings have become frost.
Like a hobo on narcotics,
Like a cockroach taped together,
I have gone numb.
With my head in the tropics,
My heart has stopped beating.

On my quest to happiness,
