Love’s a strong positive emotion of regard and affection
A feeling that’s supposed to get you going in the right direction
Down that one way street of happiness and bliss
That feeling of accomplishment…you’ve checked one off your list
But what happens when it’s gone nowhere to be found
The remiss of your attitude left it lying around
It’s like a flower that blooms and it’s a sight to the eye
Then suddenly it leaves without saying goodbye
And you’re left there wondering just what went wrong
And you’re crying while listening to these sad love songs
You sit and reminisce on what could’ve been
Forcing you to realize that this is the end
As you lay alone missing that warm embrace
The tears just start streaming down your face
Then you remember when he told you till death do us part
Every word is now a pain in your heart
But you think on it and you both calm down
You decide to give this a second round
But things are different now the situation doesn’t seem right
Conversations end with negativity every night
There’s no more goodnight kisses just turn over and go to sleep
Then in the morning more attitude where’s the peace
You both decide this isn’t working we should just both move on
But then you go back to those sad love songs
You think what happened to us where did we go wrong
As you sit and stare at his pictures in your phone
Maybe you guys just weren’t ready maybe you moved too fast
But it’s too late for that now that was all in the past
But love is a strong feeling that won’t go away
You just have to let it work it self out day by day
It may never leave but that’s fine too
That person just might be a part of you
Being friends is not bad though it will be hard
But that’s always better than having to love from afar
So now you can smile and get some sleep at night
Knowing they’re one call away everything is alright
There may be another chance in the future but who’s to say
For now ya’ll are like best friends until that special day
