A New Life

Sand running along the shore
Stars gathered above us
Beach grass swaying in the wind
Kindling thrown onto the flames
The fire spreading its warmth
Words tossed at each other
Worries suspended
Resolved to make this night happy,
Before she leaves
The world is changing for her
Binded by our own thoughts, our family
Can barely say our bittersweet
"Goodbye"
And on that note, she leaves
Leaving our family
Her old life
Behind
