Marching Into Metamorphosis

March 21, 2010

Wrapped snug in its cocoon,
Brown and sleek,
Life hides.
Cold seeps slowly into the the darkness,
Winter's grim reaper yet lingers.
Suddenly, a glimpse of light
Peeps around the corner.
It springs forward from the distance
Wings spread,
A new season blooms
Of dawning light and warmth.
In a burst of bright color,
It takes flight.
The butterfly comes into its own.
