Without Mercy

The queen stands; regal, proud
Unforgiving as the prisoner is brought before her
She listens in silence, her expression unchanging as he offers excuses for his crimes
When he is finished she speaks
Her voice is clear and cold as ice
The captive turns white as she indifferently orders his death
Justice is a merciless mistress
