winter
Its icy winds and freezing snow engulf me,
As do my feelings for you,
But just the thought of you and me,
It warms my body to my very soul.
I always wish to be with you,
But when I want to tell you,
I cannot bring myself to it
Because I know already the answer,
That you wish we could just be friends,
And nothing more.
Although the ice and leafless trees are downcast,
They cannot compare to the life I must lead, alone.
Even though the chilling gusts are harsh,
They cannot compare the cruelty of reality.
And the snowy hillsides are white and pure,
Untainted by anything in the world.
Unmoved by nothing but the wind,
Which moves it as it pleases.
But the snow still retains its pureness
Until the spring heat dissipates it,
Just like you and me.
Except, there was never anything there,
Just me, wishing you could know.
This purity and wholeness reminds me,
Of what could have been between you and me
Us.
Although you might forget,
I will remember you,
Always and forever more.
I only want to let you know,
What I feel for you
I only want you and me,
White and pure as the snow.
