Memories
Memories
In my memories you will no longer reside
In you I will no longer confide
My emotions I will no longer hide and
By your rules I will no longer abide
I’ve finally gotten off that roller coaster ride
I will follow a new guide
‘Cause now I see you were never on my side.
After all I tried and the amount of tears that I cried
All the feelings I held inside
Waiting for the refuge you refused to provide
Making me feel completely denied.
The very last good emotion I felt for you had died
But at least you still have your pride.
Well that’s what you think
But in my eyes you’ve long been on the brink.
It happened as fast as a blink
For I thought we were so in sync.
But I’m happy for much I have learned.
As far as I’m concerned,
That bridge has been burned,
And on my part, a new leaf has been turned.
