a conversatin with god

i have a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea of you,
and i always have.
the phone always seemed to be off the hook when i called
and the only wisdom you ever gave me was a busy signal.
sitting on a couch of clouds,
watching us like a sitcom.
i wonder-
have i been on mute?
just a mass of ignored subtitles rolling across the screen-
a channel passed while surfing?
i know the gates won't open until i ask forgiveness,
but i keep waiting for you to ask first.
everyone is dying to meet you,
literally.
and here i am,
ungrateful.
