Beating Heart
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The thudding of a heart,
Thud. Thud. Thud.
A consisted thud as if someone’s knocking on your door.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
A thud of life.
One thud equals a beat.
A beat of life.
A beat that is slowly coming to an end.
A beat that will soon be no more.
A beat that you have caused to slowly fade away from me.
Broken. A broken thud.
A broken beat.
A broken life coming to an end.
Life doesn’t end when the thudding stops.
When you cause pain and take my heart,
That’s when the thud stops.
That’s when the final beat of my heart
