Never Disconnected
ever Disconnected
sometimes I step out,
and take time to remember,
all the great times
before your last November.
I run away from all the rest,
as they stumble for strength and say you’re gone,
but we are closer now than ever
as I lay on the lawn.
you always cared to help others,
even when you were in distress,
I don’t know how you kept yourself together,
when everything else was a mess.
role model is a word,
everybody comes to use,
you are this loving person I look up to,
this probably isn’t shocking news.
so I take a deep breath in ,
gaze into the sky,
I watch a little while
then you peacefully pass by.
You’re o so bright
as you shine from miles away,
the sparkle lights up the night
as we both pray.
I keep my courage strong
as you told me to do,
I keep my head high
and stay in touch with you.
every once in a while
a tumbling tear fills my eye,
I quickly look back on the other times,
and let out a sigh.
A picture can come to mind,
that reminds me of the rest,
they stumble and say you’re gone,
but I am truly blessed.
although sorrow can take over,
I remember what you said,
nothing disconnects us,
even if we are dead.
