Maintaining consciousness
You tend to hold me here
I’d like to fall asleep
But can’t, it’s your fault, dear
It’s sad to have to think this way
Negative about you
But I feel I have to filter
Way you say could not be true
My suspicions replaced
By increased ignorance
I know I shouldn’t have to
Maintaining love, not common sense
Letting you so close to me
Yet keeping you apart
I feel wary of your words
And the way you touch my heart
I still love you through
This cautious lack of trust
I revise and edit
Reliability is a must
