Beautifully Bold
It’s a beautifully bold life
There’s a simplicity when your younger
 That is easily forgotten.

The simmer of a surreal life finds your eye
The smoke from the cigarette invites you in.
 Too bold to say no,
 Too beautiful to turn away.

 You live life to the best of your ability;
 You appear balanced.
And the appearance drives you to create a silent screaming in your head.

You smear the image of perfection in their faces
Forcing them to see only what you want them to see.
Throw on your performance face, little girl
 And compose a rhythm.

A mix of lies and the truth,
 Beauty and desire
 Along with ugliness and despise.

 Beauty and bold two things
 Both all too powerful,
 And yet, somehow,
 Found in one little girl.
