"I will be the gladdest thing under the sun. I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one." -Deb Talan

When daddy won't be coming around,
When all the world burns to the ground,
When only darkness can be found-
What would Jesus do?
When ink drips from a broken heart,
When clasping hands are torn apart,
When you never knew who you were from the star-
What would Jesus do?
When lie upon lie is only told,
When loving one another becomes old,
When your very soul has been sold-
What would Jesus do?
When all the faith has been sucked about,
When all you hear is a scream and a shout,
When you just want a way out-
What would Jesus do?
When you feed the starving fish and bread,
When you love all no matter what was said,
When you have nails hammered to your head,
What did Jesus do?

The author's comments:
I recently got a WWJD bracelet, which inspired me to write this poem. Through everything that Jesus went through, he came out with a positive attitude, and that really fascinates me.
