Flowers
A bouquet of flowers
Was delivered to my home
And when I saw it
Joy filled me
And thoughts of my husband,
And I tried to think of a reason
For such a lovely gift
When another man,
A scary one,
Suddenly crossed my mind
And all the times I saw him
When I looked over my shoulder.
I remembered the other gifts
This man had gotten me.
And so in horror I waited
Until my husband came home
And in reply about the flowers
They were not from my husband.
