Sitting Here and Wondering

As I sit here wondering
where my baby is,
I can't help but wish his arms around me,
to want his shoulder here
to lay on,
to miss his voice soothing me.
As I sit here with my head pounding
and feeling feverishly-hot,
I can't help but laugh to myself,
picturing his charming words
at that statement.
I listen to the music
in the other room;
To the voices of a few echoing.
I sit in the teacher's office,
waiting.
Waiting for the bell to ring,
and time ticking closer
to seeing him.
Because for some unexplained reason
being with him
helps me feel better;
helps the throbbing subside,
makes me forget the temperatures.
And the more he holds me,
the more we hug;
The more I want to be with him,
The more I want to hold him.
