Lost Inhibitions

Gravel lots end in cliffs,
revealing a forest
forsaken by nature,
in favor of infrastructure.
Forgotten and meaningless roads.
Freed by the potential,
to be lost and forgotten,
I become carefree
with a loss of direction.
I lose inhibitions and
sight of the path on which I arrived,
as it’s obscured by the underbrush.
Telling time by sunlight,
I abandon responsibilities
if only fleetingly,
leaving my radio at home,
connecting notions and limbs.
