America's Pastime
America’s pastime is the game that I love.
Even when I’m sitting way, way above.
The game is so far, yet the action so close.
And this is why I love baseball the most.
Opening day and the stands are filled
As they wait for their ace to take the hill.
He winds and he deals
Strikes one
two
and
three!
The crowd erupts with untameable glee.
The fans are a family with one goal when it’s over,
to see their team playing for it all in October.
The lights, the sounds, the atmosphere of it all,
It’s America’s pastime, and we call it baseball.
