Going for the jump

The glassy waves smoothly ride under us
The sun is high
In the sky
No clouds
For as far as
The eye can see.
When the sun is high,
You can see below the beautiful surface.

The wind whips through
My hair as I hang off the side.
That special thrill goes through me
Whenever the wind picks up
The waves glide
Up and down
As the sail pulls us
Into the bay.

I look to the right just as a silver fish
Jumps above the water
and lands gracefully back into the water
Without any splash.
At that exact
I know sailing is always
Going to be a part of
