You’re always by my side.
Keeping me company when nobody’s home.
Your “buzz buzz buzz” is oh so comforting.
When I wake up in the morning
You’re the annoying thing
That plays that same old stupid song.
But during the day,
You’re that one great thing
The great thing that entertains me for hours on end.
When you’re not in my pocket I feel empty.
I wonder what it would be like
To only rely on one phone number,
One answering machine.
Realistically, I am a teenager.
A teenager in the 21st century.
Let’s not pretend like every person
7 years old and up,
Isn’t carrying around a little square device too.
