Marry a man like your father
Marry a man like your father
Marry a man like your father
I would leave him
I would be miserable
Marriage is prison
And a tall, thin, dark man with a heaving snout
trying to overpower me?
Me?
Overpower me?
I'd kill him
I'd leave him
He would cry me out
And I would live long with a broken heart
I'd shatter on my knees
Collapse, tremble, and broken
Broken down mess on my knees
Marry a man like my father?
Miserable, miserable wretch I would be
I would leave him
He would never see me cry
I would not give him the pain or the pleasure of thinking, knowing he got to me
Marry a man like my father?
The house would be a storm of fiery anger
Yes, the clouds will settle upon
But a gray dismal scene would forever cast about
Marry a man like my father and I would die a lonely wife
Though, I might
I might, I might
For I would be drawn to him
love what I know
I'd die a lonely, loved wife
For if he was anything like my father,
he would love me more than he could, would let himself say
