Alone they trot along
Impervious to cold
Rubber tires hissing
On sinister shining asphalt
And the occasional courteous driver
Horn screaming
Reminds them they are
An oddity
But the consequences
Of a sedated, lonesome existence
Are too miserable to conceive
A unique abrasive necessity
Synthesizes separate psyches
Under muted grey skies
Soaring snowflakes
And drifting blues
The empty space between their destinations
Absorb the silent sound
Of blazing sparks
In cold air
