Without You

March 10, 2010
By Anonymous

Every single step
Farther from you
Is closer up
To being through.

Every decision I make
That was decided on my own
Makes a small lake
Into a vast ocean.

I can feel myself hiking
To the top of the mountain
And all without thinking
Without you I won’t win.

I can compete
In my own solitude
And this I will complete
With my own attitude.

Because I don’t need you
To sum up who I’ll be
I will stay true
Just wait, you’ll see.

I feel myself growing
As a person, as am I.
I am glowing
And quietly, I say goodbye.

this has a tone of self-acceptance. i can feel your confidence increasing through every word. it rubbed off! though this poem was based off something sad, it made me happy. love it!

This is very good... I like your word choice, and its something i can relate to very well.

I went through something like that, too. I like your choice of words :)
