My Silent End
When all my world is gone and dead.
Still photos locked inside my head.
I’ll wish upon the fallen star,
To place my path to where you are.
The living have the easy road.
They walk from year to year.
The dead have to walk a harder way.
Pushed by constant fear.
They never know when time is up.
Or when they have to go.
They hold on to what’s already lost.
Afraid to never know.
That’s why I will hold you close.
Until my dying breath.
For Life is full of promises.
But nothing lasts in death.
Across the sky my star will shine.
And drop onto the sun.
Bright colors flash,
but the show is over long before it has begun.
I used to think that all is well.
My wish to be made real.
But smiles are for dreamers.
Not for ghosts who cannot feel.
My mind on constant replay.
It never stops or slows.
But I live within the living.
My chapter at it’s close.
