An intricate lie
Spun of hatred and mistrust
Designed to close in at precisely the wrong moment
Choke the happiness, consume the love, obliterate the passion
Leave behind only misery
Green eyes turn gray
Pale skin turns colorless
Blonde curls fall limp
I'm fine, I'm just fine
Lies flow from once-pretty lips
Lies so fallacious, they are almost truths
