love forgotten

forgotten, she sits silently
in the saddest corner of the heart.
her red, sleepless eyes stare into the lonely darkness.
her arms are heaped upon her lap,
mangled and broken by faith’s leap.
suddenly love forgotten rises.
her entire being is swallowed by the darkness
but for her angry mouth
which lets out a hollow, anguished scream
silence follows.
and then forgotten love
sits back down in her forgotten corner.
sighs.
cries
tears that can only make it to the sea of memories forgotten
at the bottom of a broken heart.
