It's just so hard to bear
To want to change the past
When I know I can't.
I make up stories
Lots of
Alternative endings
When I’m lying
At the head of my bed,
Just thinking of
What I could have done,
To change what is now,
`
But I know I can't
So why even try
Because I know,
That the dreams
The memories
Those made-up “alternative endings”
Are what keep me alive.*
