Poem for the Broken Heart
In is despair he made a poem,
A sad lover's lament.
He wanted his story of a lost love known,
A love for a girl with whom he was not meant.
His heart ached with pain
When he thought of her beauty,
Or even spoke her name.
In his despair he made a poem,
To ease the pain of his aching heart.
His love would never know
That he couldn't live with them apart.
The morning after his lament was known,
He was found at his bedside.
Death on him looked peaceful.
In his despair he wrote a poem,
That was found beside his bed.
It read, “Without your love, I know I will be dead.”
