Morning Hugs

The hallway buzzes with chatter and footsteps of sleepy teenagers. The morning is still cold and fuzzy. The sun will rise but for now it rests waiting for the perfect moment to shine its light. Walking down the hall my eyes search for you. The excitement grows and I’m hoping I don’t look like it’s 6:00 in the morning. But then you appear. The familiar jacket striding towards me. And then it comes. The moment that I long for. Your arms come around me as my head is pressed to your chest. It is then that the closeness surrounds us. The world stands still. The worries and stresses melt away to reveal a moment of paradise. I breathe in the scent of your clothing and a warmth fills my being. The moment is priceless

I wrote this when I found out a friend of mine was moving. I was sitting in the hall and I pulled out my pen and paper and just wrote. Enjoy!
