Everything's fine, say the


blades of tall grass growing in the field.

Everything's great, say the


colored flowers, postioned unevenly.

Everything's gorgeous, say the


butterflies fluttering past.

Everything's beautiful, say the


scattering of oak trees.

Everything's wonderful, say the


blue birds hidden in the trees.

Everything's spectacular, say the


bugs scurrying about.


(Not for long), whispers the


rope tied to the oak tree

and the chair positioned



underneath.

The author's comments:
I was thinking about how many people can't immediately see when their friend is depressed, because they're either in denial about the rope hanging from the oak tree, or they simply can't see past the tall grass.
